Research Topic
The study aims to document, analyse, and highlight the engagement of women and youth from the Moroccan diaspora in Europe (France, Belgium, Italy) in co-development and solidarity initiatives toward Morocco.

- No regional quotas (except in Belgium with a mix of Flanders and Wallonia).
Research Methodologies
Quantitative
Target Respondents
- Residents in the corresponding countries from Moroccan descent.
- Mix of first and second generations.
- At least 50% women.
- Mainly 18–35 years old (at least 70%) with the balance not older than 45.
- Engaged in or interested in initiatives related to Morocco: co-development (e.g. association members, volunteers), grassroots solidarity, social projects, social investment, volunteering, etc..
Methods of Data Collection
- Online (CAWI) by self-completion.
- Or face-to-face or telephone (CATI) using the CAWI online questionnaire, whichever is the more effective.
- A mix of methods is possible depending on fieldwork feasibility.
- LoI is 15 minutes.
- In Belgium, mix of Dutch (Flanders) and French (Wallonia) speakers.
- The client programs and hosts the questionnaire in French, Dutch, Italian and English.
IDIs
Target Respondents
- Residents in the corresponding countries from Moroccan descent.
- Mix of first and second generations.
- At least 50% women.
- Mainly 18–35 years old (at least 70%) with the balance not older than 45.
- Engaged (or willing to engage) youth and women in the Moroccam diaspora: association members, young entrepreneurs, volunteers, students, etc..
Methods of Data Collection
- Online IDIs.
- Or face-to-face at a venue convenient to the respondent.
- Audio visual recordings (screen recordings if online).
- A mix of methods is possible depending on fieldwork feasibility.
- LoI is 30 minutes.
- 6 IDIs per country.
- In Belgium, mix of Dutch (Flanders) and French (Wallonia) speakers.
- In case of online, the client provides the online meeting platform.
FGDs
Target Respondents
- Residents in the corresponding countries from Moroccan descent.
- 1 group per country.
- Mix of first and second generations.
- At least 50% women.
- Mainly 18–35 years old (at least 70%) with the balance not older than 45.
- Engaged (or willing to engage) youth and women in the Moroccam diaspora: association members, young entrepreneurs, volunteers, students, etc..
- Homogeneous groups (e.g. young women in France, youth in Belgium, mixed association members in Italy. Final criteria still to be decided depending on feasibility.
- In Belgium the groups will be in French only.
Methods of Data Collection
- Online FGDs.
- Or in a research facility.
- 6 Respondents per group.
- Audio visual recordings (screen recordings if online).
- A mix of methods is possible depending on fieldwork feasibility.
- Duration of the discussion is 90 minutes.
- In case of online, the client provides the online meeting platform.
