RFQ 2563 - Qual - FGD - Migrant Remittances - CA

Research Topic

Understand remittance behaviour, financial inclusion, and financial literacy among three migrant communities in Canada: Haitian, Nigerian and Filipino.

Suggested Research Locations

  • Toronto.
  • Montreal.
  • Vancouver.

Target Respondents

  • Haitian migrants.
  • Nigerian migrants.
  • Filipino migrants.
  • Must have resided in Canada for at least 1.5 years.
  • Mix by gender, age and socio-economic group (assume corresponding with incidence rate among the target population).

Research Methodology

  • 12 in-venue FGDs. Online is not an option.
  • 8 respondents per group.
  • Expected duration of the discussion is 120 minutes.
  • Ideally convened in an FGD studio, but alternative venues (e.g. club, hotel, business centre) acceptable provided the facility is private.
  • Extend hospitality to participants in the form of beverages and basic snacks.
  • Basic webstreaming for remote observing.
  • Simultaneous translation to English for the French speaking groups (optional).
  • Audio visual recordings with audio recordings as a back-up.

Please note that you may recommend a different spread of groups but these three cities are - according to available statistics - the more popular ones among the target group.
